       Where do I even begin? The book, Heartless, was such a good book it makes me cry.  The book tells the backstory of the Queen of Hearts from Alice and Wonderland.  The details are so small, yet intricate. The words on the pages go smoothly together, and the characters will instantly have a place in your heart.  This book, to me, was one of the best I've ever read. 

       I easily fell in love with the chacaters, some more than others *cough cough, Jest, cough cough*. The description itself is amazing, it automatically pulls you in like the scent of fresh baked cookies. The story was so good I read slowly so that my brain would capture the small details, which usually doesn't happen when I read such a good book. 

       The story revolves around a girl named Catherine, her life-long dream is to open a bakery of her own. However, she knows her parents will never let that happen, especially with the King trying to make her his bride. Catherine wants little to do with him but she is constantly pushed by her mother. During these attempts Catherine has dreams of a stranger which she soon meets at a ball, and instantly pulled to him. Her life isn't simple. She is caught between several ties, and has no way out.

       Overall, this was an phenomenal book. I want to share the beauty of it to the world but I also want to keep it to myself. I highly suggest this book to people who love fairy-tales, love, and faith.

A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend and supply the Kingdom of Hearts with delectable pastries and confections. At a royal ball where Cath is expected to receive the king’s marriage proposal, she meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction.
